Why job evaluation matters now
Three issues currently on HR teams' agendas.
1
The directive requires objective criteria
The EU Pay Transparency Directive requires objective, gender-neutral criteria for every job. Defining them now prepares you for the German implementing legislation.
2
Employees and applicants are asking questions
Salary ranges in job advertisements and employees' right to information require transparent criteria for every job.
3
The works council wants to understand
A documented evaluation using consistent criteria makes discussions about pay equity easier.

Common questions before deciding
What method is the evaluation based on?
The Paterson Method (Decision Band Method), an analytical job evaluation method used for decades. A job's value depends on the decisions it makes and their scope. easygrading evaluates each job against five criteria and assigns it to one of 28 grade levels. Explore the method →
What is the difference between Basis and Pro?
Basis includes job evaluation, your own organisational structure and cross-comparison for one user. Pro adds salary bands, gender analysis, variable pay analysis, charts, reference salary data uploads and your own logo, for five users. Compare all features →
How do we involve the works council?
Ideally from the start: in Germany, establishing pay principles is generally subject to co-determination (Section 87(1), no. 10, Works Constitution Act). easygrading provides for an evaluation panel and documents every grading decision so the works council can understand it.
Does easygrading replace a legal review?
No. easygrading supports implementation of the directive with documented job evaluations and salary analysis. Whether a company meets the requirements also depends on data, processes and national law.
